Functioning
To supply the best systems for the different applications the Gocargo systems
for semi trailers are different in function from those for stationary use.
Important demands for Gocargo systems are the following:

minimum of moving parts for the minimum chance of malfunction in the installations
and the expenses for maintenance
-
minimum of maintenance in connection with the running costs of the systems
and the obliged stops when servicing
-
long service life wanted because of the higher initial investment compared
to conventional equipment
Based on the long and extensive experience of KWB with automatic loading
and unloading there are matured solutions developed for the different kinds
of needs.
The functioning of the different systems and the most important examples
of those are explained below:

The Gocargo semi trailer system
Further to the general important properties mentioned above, the system
for the semi trailer has the following specific points to be considered:

low weight for the complete system in relation to the maximum payload
-
little building height for the system in relation to the useful loading
height
-
compact driving units because of the useful loading length
-
weather, water and pickle resistant system, materials and controls
The endless moving floor as used with the stationary systems has no advantage
for the systems built into the semi trailers. Semi trailers are loaded
and unloaded by turns.
The stationary Gocargo system
Further to the general important properties mentioned above, the stationary
system has the following specific points to be considered:

strong construction needed because of the loading and unloading with fork
lifts

no parts sticking out because of the risk of damaging
-
resistant to dust and dirt from the warehouse floor
-
endless slat conveyor for shortest cycle times
The weight of the installation, which is very important for the semi trailer
system, is not important at all for the stationary systems. For this reason
the slats can be constructed with steel profiles which give the best in
strength and service life. |
