Gocargo for transport of paper reels without cargo restraint!

Berlikum, 28 Januar 2002

KWB of Berlikum, producer of the Gocargo Loading- and unloading systems has deliverd four three axle Cargolight trailers to the German Transporter Weigelt of Eilenburg.

The trailers will mainly be used for the transport of unpacked (less waste) paper reels of producer Stora-Enso. The reels are very vulnerable because of the fact that they are not packed.

The reels therefor can not be secured onto the trailers with the existing means of cargo restraint equipment. This conventional equipment will damage the reels at the sharp edges even with the use of adapters.

Loading and unloading with normal forklifts is not desired for these reels because of the higher risk of damaging the reels.

By equipping all four trailers with the Gocargo system both problems were solved:

  • With the automatic loading-unloading system the trailers can unload onto the automatic unloading docks without the need for forklifts or Joloda rails
  • With the skid resistant top side of the conveyor belt the reels are secured on the trailer, sliding is not possible. To prevent the reels from tipping in case of an emerency brake the bulkhead is equipped with an adapter to stop the reels when tipping

GOCARGO LIGHT - only 7380 kg!

GOCARGO FAST - loading and unloading of a 13,6 meters trailer in only 68 seconds!

Gocargolight for TradeTrans. KWB has equipped a three axle Sommer Cargo Light semi trailer from the standard production with the
Gocargo system. The total weight of the trailer including the un- loading system is only a mere 7.380 kg.

The trailer will mainly be used for the transport of paper reels from the Haindl paper factory to the six larger printers. All of these printers are
equipped with automatic unloading installations to which the trailer connects. The existing eleven trailers with TBS system have a weight of
    10.750 kg.

The trailer can now transport two more paper reels in one trailer because of the weight reduction of more than 3.000 kgs. Now 18 instead
of the 16. A week after it had been delivered new orders were on the way.

That something fast can be done even faster is proven by KWB with the delivery of two Gocargo Systems for the transportation of plates of cardboard. The delivered systems load and unload the cargo with a fixed speed of  twelf  m/min. To load or unload a complete trailer with a length of 13.6 metres only takes 68 seconds. The maximum payload for these systems is eight tons. Both systems were mounted in two new built trailers with a closed plywood body and two axles. The floor is from standard used tropical hardwood.

Since the Gocargo systems only take four mm in height the floor height of the trailers was not changed from the original 126 cm. The two trailers will do the transportation of plates of cardboard from the production plant to some larger customers situated close to the factory. In August a third trailer with Gocargo will be delivered.
